Begin with the riding you want to do

The Ultra Bee HP and Stark VARG MX 1.2 are both electric motorcycles, but putting them in one ranking misses the main distinction. The Sur-Ron examined here is an intermediate-size package. The Stark is a full-size motocross bike. Start with which format fits your riding, rather than which one wins.

We use the New Zealand MY25 Ultra Bee HP specification and Stark Future’s VARG MX 1.2. VARG EX and SM models are outside this comparison. Road approval or equipment from another variant must not be attributed to the MX.

Weight, riding position, and transport

Claimed weights are 88.5 kg for the Ultra Bee HP and 118 kg for the VARG MX 1.2. The 29.5 kg gap matters when moving and transporting the bike. Check the load rating of your carrier or vehicle and follow its loading instructions.

On a riding surface, weight alone does not predict stability or effectiveness. Room on the bike, wheel sizes, suspension setup, and your experience also matter. The Ultra Bee specification lists a 910 mm seat: even this intermediate format requires a fit check.

More battery energy is not a range verdict

This Ultra Bee HP uses a 74 V, 60 Ah battery, giving a calculated nominal 4.44 kWh. Stark lists 7.2 kWh. The latter has a larger nominal energy reserve, but the riding purpose and output are different. Comparing an easy ride with an intensive motocross session would not produce a meaningful range ranking.

Stark offers versions advertised at 60 or 80 hp; Sur-Ron lists 21 kW for this Ultra Bee. We retain the manufacturers’ units. Those numbers are not directly comparable without conversion, and power still does not describe the complete motorcycle.

Match the bike to the project

Consider the Ultra Bee HP if you want Sur-Ron’s intermediate format, lower claimed weight than this Stark, and features such as SRTC. Put the VARG MX on a shortlist focused on full-size motocross, with suitable preparation and a riding location that supports it.

Before buying, compare local setup, suspension adjustment, assistance, warranty, and consumables. Matching the motorcycle to your experience and riding area is more useful than chasing the most impressive number. This guide compares specifications and architectures; it does not claim comparative lap times.
